Matthew Thompson has never met a challenge too complex to tackle. From graduating 3rd in his class at the US Military Academy and leading an elite airborne U.S. Army unit to jumpstarting stagnant business for global manufacturing companies, Matt consistently exceeds goals and delivers award-winning results. Over the past 19 years, Matt has distinguished himself as a growth catalyst and turnaround strategist by quickly identifying and capitalizing on new opportunities to drive profitability. Today, Matt is Senior Director of Sales for Honeywell Sensing and IoT where he directs a 100-person sales team serving North America.
At the heart of Matt’s work is a relentless focus on accelerating growth through solution-based selling, operations innovation and customer engagement. He blends analytical skills with a natural talent for uniting teams to achieve peak productivity. Matt excels in all sales/marketing leader functions—from strategic account planning to business development, change management and product/service launches.
After leaving the military and earning an MS in electrical engineering from Georgia Tech, Matt joined Tektronix and advanced from Account Manager to Senior Manager of Sales over 11 years. He served as VP of Sales for Axell Wireless for six years and was promoted to an expanded VP role when Cobham purchased Axell and Aeroflex Wireless Test to form Cobham Wireless in 2016. In his current role at Honeywell SIoT, he is responsible for achieving growth with a $400M+ target.
Throughout his sales career, Matt has secured multimillion-dollar contracts with numerous Fortune 500 companies and government entities. He is at his professional best when creating strategies and building winning teams to propel organizations to the next level of success.
